As a connoisseur and love of the 1960s California style, Lana Del Rey has created a unique makeup look that is a fusion between modern-day and retro. It is a look that many women desire to emulate.
Lana Del Rey uses liquid eyeliner, mascara, brow pencils, lip liner, lip pencils, false eyelashes, lip exfoliant, lip balm, lipstick, highlighter, primer, powder set foundation, eye shadow, blush, and bronzer. Her makeup artist is Pamela Cochrane who mainly uses the brand Pat McGrath Labs.
Scroll down to read more about the different products within these brands that Lana Del Rey uses, her number one beauty hack, and some more of the interesting looks Pamela Cochrane has created for Lana Del Rey.
Lana Del Rey’s Makeup Products
Above we mentioned the different types of products that Del Rey uses, but we didn’t say what specific products she uses or what all of the different brands are. Let’s get into that now.
Just like we said up top, right now Lana Del Rey’s makeup artist Pamela Cochrane mostly uses products from Pat McGrath Labs. And, fortunately enough for us, Cochrane posts exactly what she uses for these looks to her Instagram.
From Pat McGrath Labs, Pamela Cochrane has used all of the following products on Lana Del Rey. Skin Fetish Sublime Perfection Powder, Sublime Perfection foundation, Sublime Perfection powder, Mothership III Eye Shadow Palette, Lip Fetish clear lip balm, Fetisheyes mascara, Buff Lip Pencil, 1995 Lip Pencil, Contour Lip Pencil, and Done Undone Lip Pencil.
That’s just what she uses from one brand.
Cochrane has said that she doesn’t really do much contouring on Lana Del Rey because she already has great skin and beautiful face structure.
You can see Lana Del Rey’s iconic makeup and style in her below music video for her song “Chemtrails Over The Country Club.”
The eyeliner that Lana Del Rey uses for her famous winged eyeliner is by the company Illamasqua. It is their Liquid Eyeliner that gives her the perfect wings that look like they’re straight out of the 1960s.
Another eyeliner that she has used is M.A.C.’s Fluidline Blacktrack liner. Other M.A.C. products that Del Rey uses are Stone Lip Liner, Hip ‘n Happy Lip Pencil, and Lasting Sensation Lip Pencil.
Finally, she has also been known to use Sarah Happ Red Velvet Lip Exfoliant, Kiehl’s lip balm, Yves Saint Laurent lipsticks, Omorovicza Facial Mist, Giorgio Armani Fluid Sheer Highlighters, and Yves Saint Laurent mascara.
Lana Del Reys’s Biggest Beauty Hack
Del Rey actually has a makeup product that is her go-to, Anastasia Beverley Hills Brow Wiz. She uses this product for a lot more than just filling in her eyebrows.
In August 2020, Del Rey posted a video to her stories on her Instagram account that brought to light some of the ways she uses Anastasia Beverley Hills Brow Wiz. At first, she uses the brow pencil as you would expect, to fill in her eyebrows.
Then things get a little different. She applies dots of it to areas where she has blemishes or a pimple and then uses her finger to press down on the spot to create the appearance of a freckle.
Finally, she draws a line beneath her bottom lashes to make them appear to have a shadow. This is a technique that she copied from Marilyn Monroe to make her eyelashes look like they are a lot longer and in turn make her eyes look bigger.
While it is an old trick, it isn’t one that many people know about today and shows just how much Lana Del Rey adores retro looks.
Some of Del Rey’s Iconic Looks
While Lana Del Rey has been known for putting her own twist on old Hollywood looks, she has also had some interesting makeup put on. Most notably was probably her neon eyeliner.
This look was once again created by her Makeup Artist, Pamela Cochrane. It appeared in her music videos for the songs ‘F*** it I Love You’ and ‘The Greatest.’
According to Dazed Beauty, Pamela used “Kryolan Aquacolors mixed with Ben Nye Liquiset to create the green liner and Illamasqua Precision Gel Eyeliner for the black.”
She also used Ardell lashes and Yves Saint Laurent Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils to create a full lash look on Lana. White eyeshadow was used to make her eyes look more exaggerated.
