Hot New Hip Hop reported on a statement from Gunna recently, the rapper, in which he addressed the news of a shooting on one of his music video sets. Yesterday, the outlet claims, the rapper was filming a video with Lil Keed, but they had to leave on account of gunfire.
According to the publication, nine shots were fired in the area, but nobody was hurt. Currently, it’s not known what actually happened, however, Gunna did take to his Instagram to address the controversy, keeping his message straight to the point.
Gunna wrote, “don’t believe the cap.”

Fans were left wondering precisely what Gunna meant to say by his social media message, because of its obviously vague tone. Naturally, Daniel Hernandez, also known as Tekashi 6ix9ine, took it upon himself to throw some shade at Gunna.
According to Hot New Hip Hop, Tekashi 6ix9ine insinuated that Gunna’s “Crime Stoppers” appearence was involved with the shooting. Whether the shooting occurred or not, there’s no question that the hip-hop community has an issue with gun violence.
Earlier this year, the Toronto rapper, Houdini, was shot and killed outside of a venue. The Toronto police reported that the young man was targeted by an unknown assailant in broad daylight in the Canadian city. Furthermore, this past year, the hip-hop community lost another star, Pop Smoke.
As it was previously reported, a group of men barged into the home that Pop Smoke was staying in and killed him. At the time of his death, it was reported as an attempted burglary, however, police officials came out to say at a later date that this didn’t appear to be the case.
And of course, the hip-hop community has suffered other bouts of gun violence, even losing some of their biggest legends, including Tupac Shakur and The Notorious BIG, who were both shot and killed in the late 1990s at the height of their career.
